How and why Marketing has changed with time from Traditional to digital
What's caused the change in marketing and advertising, and how has it affected consumers and the brand innovating the market.
Over the years, marketing has changed drastically, and this is due to technological advances as well as brand superpowers taking control of the market.
We all know of Nike and how there at the top of the shoe industry.
Nike have reached this point by changing and innovating there different strategies to marketing.
For example in the 90's they predominantly advertised by conventional means like billboard's and word of mouth where as now the change in technology has allowed them to advertise through online adverts that pop up on web pages or social media sponsorships.
Nike is now able to reach almost everyone on the planet and its showing. as even grandparents know about Nike and what they sell like their shoes and clothes.
The marketing strategies in the world have changed drastically over the years and this is partly due to brands coming up with new ideas to grab consumers attention so they buy service's or products.
A recent study has shown that over 72% of businesses marketing budget goes into the digital sector, this shows that the advances in technology have allowed businesses to branch out further and reach markets which otherwise couldn't be reached. over 55% of marketing and advertising is digital and its shown that digital market is not only more cost effective but that its more effective at attracting new customers.
Digital marketing is the fastest growing industry in the world and is currently growing at a rate of 25-30% per year, this is a massive amount of growth in the industry
Alexander Chernev is a professor of marketing at the Kellogg school of management at north-western university.
he's an expert in marketing strategy and brand management and has stated that ''In the past advertising was the main tool to inform customers about products. Now customers can get detailed information about the products from a variety of different sources'' this has proven true in every aspect where now consumers can just look at reviews online from product testing.
The consumer market for advertising and marketing has changed drastically because of technological innovations and brands constantly changing up their strategies.

This is really good Archie I like the breakdown of such a big company at the top of the sportswear industry, I really liked the use of the graph and the using Alexander Chernev to show how marketing has changed towards online marketing as time goes on.

That's great Archie. I really liked how you analysed how Nike has changed its marketing strategy and how you acknowledged its mainstream popularity. I also liked how you used numerous statistics and images to support your points.
ReplyDeletei really love this blog Archie i myself love the brand Nike but it is nice to read and hear about the brand from a more serious point of view i find the part interesting about Nike being able to reach almost everyone on the planet because it shows how Nike has expanded using globalisation.
