Market segmentation and why demographics can impact markets
What Demographic segmentation is and the different types of demographics
Demographic segmentation is the process of dividing the market into groups like age and ethnicity. these groups are what make up the market.
demographic segmentation is used so businesses can accurately market products/services to their target market. this is great as a target demographic allows businesses to get the most sales possible as their target market are the most likely to purchase their products/services.
How demographic segmentation can effect markets.
Demographic segmentation allows businesses to get more specific when marketing as their specifically targeting their products at a certain age or type of consumer.
as markets are made up of different demographics businesses can use this information to help them market their products and get the most coverage possible.
this helps their brand be perceived the way they want it too and can improve the overall perception of there business.
Hasbro is a buinsess that uses demographic segemntation more than mosot other buinsses. this is becyse their in the toy market which is targeted at kids however the toy industary chnages constantly and becuse of this hasbro has to use demogrpagic segemntation even more than buinsses in other indusatrys.
Hasbro specifically use demographic segmentation to keep up with the new trends in toys and to identify which area of the world have these trends more. this is so they can market their products in these areas more and allow them to make more sales.

Is using demographic segmentation a positive or a negative for Hasbro
for Hasbro it definitely is a positive as they use all the data available to them to sell their products as well as possible. an example of them using demographic segmentation to their advantage is when Hasbro made the first ever television advert for a toy in 1952. Hasbro used their market research to see that family's with a tv would view their adverts and this sparked the idea of advertising their classic product the mister potato head on TV. This was an instant success's and showed the toy industry that advertising products on television was a solid way to sell products. so overall Hasbro using demographic segmentation is has helped them massively and will continue to help them in the future as their marketing teams will stay up to date o n the latest trends and toys.
